Sunday March 9th,
7pm-10pm at the Purple Thistle
Come and learn about:
• the lives of honeybees, and how to respectfully and safely interact with them
• the workings of a hive
• the role of honeybees in pollination and food security
• hive equipment, inspections, and the beekeeping year
• disease prevention/treatment
• honey harvesting… and more!
There will likely be a part II as this is a lot to cover!
This workshop is geared towards people who are involved in or want to be involved in taking care of the Purple Thistle hives, but other curious bee-lovers are very welcome too!
Please RSVP to Hannah, at hmjcarpendale@hotmail.com to guarantee your spot!
**Note that this is a very basic workshop and hands-on experience through the season is really important! If you are hoping to learn enough to care for a hive, check out Brian Campbell’s free beekeeping apprenticeship with EYA (deadline Feb 10th!) and/or come help out with the Thistle hives throughout the year!**
Hello, my name is Dayna Forsgren. I would love to join this workshop and volunteer time with Purple Thistles hives as well.
Is there an RSVP for the intro workshop?
I am rsvbeeing . see you soon
